Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: October 2026
The short version
ModernLawOffice is free to read. To pay for it, some of our links to software and service providers are referral (affiliate) links. If you click one and then buy or subscribe, the provider may pay us a commission. You pay the same price either way.
What it never changes
- Rankings, reviews, verdicts and comparisons are never paid for.
- Whether a tool has a referral program has no effect on whether we include or recommend it. Many tools we cover pay us nothing.
- Vendors cannot buy a better review or the removal of criticism.
- We do not publish sponsored content dressed up as editorial. If we ever run a sponsored placement, it will be labelled "Sponsored" where it appears.
How referral links are marked
Buttons that use a referral link are labelled "Referral link", and pages that can contain them carry a short disclosure. Referral links are also marked for search engines as sponsored.
Click measurement
We count clicks on outbound vendor links in aggregate (which tool, and where on the site the link was) to understand which guides readers find useful. See our privacy policy for how analytics data is handled.
More about how we work
